Do you teach a strategy class? Are you looking for a simple, very affordable, tools-based book to support your teaching? John Wisneski (ASU), Rene Bakker (RSM) and I recently published "Strategy in 3D: Essential Tools to Diagnose, Decide and Deliver" for exactly this purpose. The book covers 16 different strategy tools organized according to a simple overarching framework. It is ideal as a learning resource for an undergrad or foundational/core MBA strategy class.

The electronic version of the book costs less than US$10 and the paperback version costs less than US$30.

We have created a set of beautiful, professional slides to accompany each chapter of the book. These can be accessed via the 'Instructor Files' page on the book website (https://www.strategy-in-3d.com/). These slides can be downloaded, edited, and used for teaching purposes.

Additionally, we have identified 16 CNBC videos that can serve as practical case studies to illustrate and discuss the application of each of the strategy tools in the book. Each video is 7-15 minutes long and is accessible to instructors and students at no cost (via YouTube).  For each video case study, we have prepared a set of 4 to 7 questions that can be used by instructors to facilitate a discussion focused on applying the tools in the book. The links to the respective videos as well as the case study questions can also be accessed via the 'Instructor Files' page on the book website (https://www.strategy-in-3d.com/).

All this means that you can deliver an excellent strategy class to your students at a very affordable cost.

If you are looking for a more complete set of online material to support a strategy class – especially for those teaching a fully online or hybrid class – we have also developed full online learning modules that pair with the chapters in the book. Each learning module contains:

    • A chapter of the book
    • short quiz
    • An explainer video
    • An application case study video where students watch an up-to-date video about a well-known firm; embedded in the video are questions that test application & understanding of concepts
    • An application template for students to apply each strategy tool in the book to a firm of interest

This online material is available for adoption at a cost of $50 per student. Please contact me directly if you are interested in seeing a demo of this material.

    Thanks for your interest!
