Panel Session at SMS Annual Conference
The Impact of Political and Institutional Environments on Global Strategies of State-controlled Firms
Joint session (#1800) of Global Strategy IG and Strategic Leadership & Governance IG
12:00-13:00 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on Friday, October 30th
Please join us on the last day of the annual SMS conference for a panel session about the impact of political and institutional environments on global strategies of state-owned firms. The state influence on the global strategies of state-owned firms can be all-pervasive. However, state-owned firms can also enjoy a high degree of autonomy and their strategies may be indistinguishable from those of privately-owned firms. We will consider state-owned firms that operate in different political and institutional environments focusing on the implications of state control for their strategies.
