About SMA
The Southern Management Association (SMA) is a domestic affiliate of the Academy of Management. Its primary mission is to advance the research, teaching, learning, and practice of management. SMA membership consists of over 1,000 management professors, doctoral students, and professionals representing more than 200 colleges, universities, and business firms in 43 states and several foreign countries.
SMA is also home to Journal of Management, a peer-reviewed bi-monthly journal that publishes scholarly empirical and theoretical research articles that have a high impact on the management field as a whole. JOM covers domains such as business strategy and policy, entrepreneurship, human resource management, organizational behavior, organizational theory, and research methods.
