Job Summary
This position is for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant-level appointment with the primary responsibilities of teaching, research, and service. Quality teaching, research/scholarly activity and service responsibilities are required.
Duties and Responsibilities
The teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in business strategy and entrepreneurship. Teaching both face to face and online is required and experience in both formats is preferred. Other teaching related responsibilities include academic advising, student recruiting and retention, and course/curriculum development.
Research responsibilities include presentations at professional meetings and publication in peer-reviewed journals. Seeking and securing outside funding of research is strongly encouraged. A track record of research leading to publication is required for tenure and promotion.
The successful candidate is expected to communicate and interact with the business community. The individual is expected to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, peers, and administrators and be willing to serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
A terminal degree in Management or a closely related field is required. ABD's are acceptable. Must meet the College's AACSB standard for Scholarly Academic.
The ideal candidate's qualifications will include:
- Excellent teaching skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty in the College of Business and Social Sciences.
- Evidence of scholarly research
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- The ability and desire to work in an interdisciplinary environment
