For our strategy teaching colleagues,
In teaching strategy over the years, I have increasingly incorporated strategy analytics into my curriculum. Analysis underlies the effective use of important strategic management frameworks, such as industry analysis and value chain. Practice doing strategy analytics is important for students so they can develop these skills.
After I increasingly built analytics exercises into my curriculum, I discovered that in-class case discussions and written strategy projects were of much higher quality.
I am sharing my proven exercises with our strategy community. On the support site for my Strategic Management textbook are a series of analytics exercises that I developed for various content areas in the strategy course. A Teaching Note (TN) accompanies each exercise.
