The STR Division is pleased to sponsor the 2021 STR Junior Faculty Consortium during the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.

The STR Junior Faculty Consortium brings together teaching- and research-oriented faculty who have recently completed their PhD programs. The objective is to enhance the scholarship, teaching, and overall professional development of faculty in early stages of their careers at different types of institutions across the world. The consortium seeks to provide opportunities for participants to engage in research discussions with peers and distinguished scholars, exchange ideas about research and teaching practices, and other aspects of their career. It will feature interactive discussions about how to balance the competing pressures of teaching, research and service. Senior faculty mentors will provide first-hand and detailed advice about how to build a successful academic career in a range of different institutional settings. Most importantly, participants will receive feedback on their "research trajectory" from their peers and senior faculty.

Our confirmed faculty mentors are Gautam Ahuja (Cornell); Nel Dutt (University of Bocconi); Gwen Lee (University of Florida); Xavier Martin (Tilburg University); Michael Mol (Copenhagen Business School); Bilian Ni Sullivan (HKUST Business School); Chris Tucci (Imperial College London); Yanfeng Zheng (HKUST Business School).

The 2021 AOM STR Junior Faculty Consortium will most likely take place on Wednesday August 4 (pending final AOM confirmation on the timing). Pre-registration is required. To qualify, applicants must be at least starting as an assistant professor (or post-doctoral researcher) in an academic institution in the Fall of 2021 and have no more than six years of experience by August 2021. The application deadline is June 15 2021. Please apply using the following link: https://forms.gle/HcnCEFPsW3hUkKyBA

The consortium co-chairs are Kenneth Huang (National University of Singapore; kennethhuang@nus.edu.sg) and Mahka Moeen (University of North Carolina; Mahka_Moeen@kenan-flagler.unc.edu). If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

    Best Wishes,
    Kenneth and Mahka
