    Research Assistant Professor in Management (Ref. 19112902)

     

    The Department of Management and Marketing (MM) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Business. MM is dedicated to providing cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills for our students in three key areas of business - Management, Marketing, and Management Information Systems (MIS).

    The Department now invites applications for faculty position in all MM disciplines at the rank of Research Assistant Professor (RAP). For RAP in Management, preference will be given to those with background in human resource management and entrepreneurship. Research-focused applicants who are interested in joining our vibrant and growing research team are strongly encouraged to apply for the post.

     

    MM offers a full range of programmes leading to the awards of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Business Administration. The Department currently has around 40 full-time academic staff who are actively involved in research, consultancy, and management development work with businesses in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and internationally. The Department is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service to the community. Faculty members in MM regularly publish in top-tier journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems and Management Science.     Duties

    The appointee will be required to:

    (a) conduct research as the main duty and actively pursue external research grants, such as General Research Fund, as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator;

    (b) provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level (one course per year);

    (c) contribute to departmental service; and

    (d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates.

     

    Qualifications

    Applicants should:

    (a) have a doctoral degree in a related discipline;

    (b) have demonstrated promise of a high level of creative ability in research and teaching in some subdivisions of his/her field;

    (c) be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills; and

    (d) be highly proficient in written and spoken English.

    Remuneration and Conditions of Service

    A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Appointment will only be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
