The STR Division is pleased to sponsor the 2022 virtual STR Junior Faculty Consortium during the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.

The STR Junior Faculty Consortium brings together teaching- and research-oriented faculty who have recently completed their PhD programs. The objective is to enhance the scholarship, teaching, and overall professional development of faculty in early stages of their careers at different types of institutions across the world. The consortium seeks to provide opportunities for participants to engage in research discussions with peers and distinguished scholars, exchange ideas about research and teaching practices, and other aspects of their career. It will feature interactive discussions about how to balance the competing pressures of teaching, research and service. Senior faculty mentors will provide first-hand and detailed advice about how to build a successful academic career in a range of different institutional settings. Most importantly, participants will receive feedback on their "research trajectory" from their peers and senior faculty.

Our confirmed faculty mentors are Sea-Jin Chang (National University of Singapore), Giovanni Battista Dagnino (University of Rome LUMSA), Waverly Ding (University of Maryland), Sinziana Dorobantu (NYU), Nathan Furr (INSEAD), Jing Li (Simon Fraser), Catherine Maritan (Syracuse U), Anand Nandkumar (Indian School of Business), Claudio Panico (Bocconi), Laura Poppo (University of Nebraska), and Anu Wadhwa (Imperial College London).

The 2022 AOM STR Junior Faculty Consortium will take place on Monday August 1 8:30am-12:30pm ET. Pre-registration is required. To qualify, applicants must be at least starting as an assistant professor in an academic institution in the Fall of 2022 and have no more than six years of experience by August 2022. In case of space limitations, priority will be given to applicants in early years of their faculty position or those who have started a tenure track position. Although outside the scheduled days of the conference, registration at the Academy of Management Conference is also required to participate in the consortium.

The application deadline is June 3, 2022. All applicants will be notified of admission decisions by the end of June. Please apply using the following link:  https://forms.gle/5i8dZdaPfe4EpMo5A

The consortium co-chairs are Mahka Moeen (University of North Carolina; Mahka_Moeen@kenan-flagler.unc.edu) and Sergio Lazzarini (Insper; SergioGL1@insper.edu.br). If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
