Dear STR Community,
I hope this email finds you healthy and persevering! Many of you participated in our “STRonger Together” initiatives last month including Café Zoom Conversations that tackled working from home challenges, PhD Networkshops in which doctoral students on the market received in depth feedback from senior scholars in virtual breakout rooms, STR teaching resources, and our STR Photo Booth with our pet pals. Based on the overwhelming positive feedback we received, the STR Leadership Team is committed to serving our community further using the tools at our disposal during these unusual times.
This month, STR will launch several “STRonger Together” online initiatives – specifically targeting doctoral students, junior faculty, and all of our members by international regions. Below is a quick summary and you can find details by following each link.
Social Connections: Café Zoom Conversations offer the opportunity for our membership to get together socially online. STR members are invited to discuss challenges they face working from home, as well as share strategies that are helpful to manage disruptions and stay positive and productive, and make new friends. This month we will host a set of conversations specifically for doctoral students and another set for regional communities across the globe (Africa, Asia, Central & South America, Europe, North America, and Oceania). We have organized three 1.5-hour Café Zoom PhD Conversations rotating across time zones, and six 2-hour Café Zoom Regional Conversations in local time zones. Please register for one or more sessions, and you will receive your Zoom link upon registration.
Research Connections:
Coffee Wish Conversations offer the opportunity for
Assistant Professors to have a one-on-one conversation with a senior scholar. With most conferences and external speaker visits being cancelled, junior faculty no longer have the opportunity to interact with senior scholars to share their ideas and get feedback on their emerging research agendas and identities. Our goal is to provide “coffee wishes” for junior faculty to make these candid conversations feasible! We have a group of senior faculty who have generously committed thirty minutes in each of the last three weeks of May for Coffee Wish Conversations. There will be three rounds of sign-ups; interested junior faculty may request a time slot and we will contact you with confirmation depending on availability. Faculty participants for May include:

STR Virtual Symposia offer the opportunity for our community to stay engaged with current research. At present, we have two fantastic virtual symposia scheduled, each with four paper presentations and discussants. Teaching Connections: Please contribute any Strategic Management teaching content that you can share during this time (into our

Corey; the first book is Leviathan Wakes but be warned – this is a commitment – there are nine books in total.
