The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University invites applications for one full-time non-tenure track Professor of the Practice faculty position starting August 2025. Primary teaching duties are anticipated to be in the subject of managerial economics at the master's level (MBA, executive MBA, and specialized master's programs). Additional teaching responsibilities may include classes in the areas of strategic management, international business, and / or entrepreneurship.
The Owen Graduate School of Management is engaged in graduate and undergraduate management education. It has an enrollment of over 600 students in its MBA, Executive MBA, Global MBA for Executives, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Accountancy, Master of Marketing, and Master of Management in Health Care programs. In addition, Owen School faculty members teach in the Vanderbilt University undergraduate business minor. The Owen School enrolls a culturally diverse student body from all parts of the U.S. and 40 countries. Founded in 1873, Vanderbilt University is an internationally recognized research university with a student body of some 13,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, of which 34.2 percent are minority students; 10.3 percent of students are international from 93 countries. Qualifications
Applicants must have a master's degree in the area of teaching responsibility or a master's degree combined with significant managerial experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in economics or related field from an AACSB accredited university. Prior experience teaching in the subject area is highly desired and recent course teaching evaluations are required as part of the application process.
