The University of Mississippi is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join the management department. The ideal candidate is interested in developing and actively working on research with faculty and doctoral students.

The University of Mississippi's management faculty is housed on the bucolic Oxford campus in Mississippi, one of the country's great college towns. The faculty has a good balance between junior and senior faculty as well as between micro and macro researchers. In the last three years, faculty have published in the Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Organization Science, Human Resource Management, and the Strategic Management Journal. We are looking for an enjoyable colleague who can start in Fall 2025. Our previous post-doctoral research fellow earned a job at a major state university, and we are excited to continue this success with a new colleague.

This is a two-year temporary appointment. The department is paying $80,000 annually and will support research expenses and travel up to $10,000 while the candidate is here. We will ask that the candidate teach a 2/2 load which potentially can be balanced out as 1 course in the fall and 3 in the spring. Some of those sections will be the undergraduate capstone strategy class.

Candidates will need to have finished their PhD recently so that they will be no more than 5 years since the defense of their PhD at the conclusion of this appointment. A degree in management is preferred, but all interested and capable researchers who can credibly teach the strategy course and are interested in management research will be considered.

Please apply online or email the Department Chair in Management, Dr Rich Gentry with any questions (rgentry@bus.olemiss.edu). The department cannot sponsor green card applications or visa processing for this position. To be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. We do not offer any type of employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program.

    Sincerely,

    Richard Gentry, Ph.D.
