    Department Summary

    The G. Brint Ryan College of Business is the choice of nearly 10,000 students -- making it one of the largest business schools in the nation. Since 1961, the college has been continuously accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) -- a hallmark of the world's best business schools. Nationally recognized and cutting-edge degrees, enable students to learn beyond the classroom so they can become leaders in their field.
    The Department of Management provides quality management education leading to baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees. The department also conducts high-level basic and applied research, engages in instructional development and provides professional expertise and service to the department's constituent communities.

    We have three main academic programs in organizational behavior and human resources, strategy and entrepreneurship, and sport entertainment management. In addition to being home to 20 tenure system faculty in organizational behavior, human resources, entrepreneurship, strategy, and sport entertainment management our department has 18 professional faculty (lecturers and clinical faculty).

    UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

    Position Overview

    The Department of Management in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Strategy. This is a nine month, full-time, tenure-track position.

    The successful candidate will be expected to develop a record of scholarly research publications in leading academic management journals to earn tenure. 

    In addition, the position includes a 2-2 teaching load. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in both online and face-to-face teaching, in the topical areas of Strategic Management, International Management, or similar. Furthermore, successful candidates are expected to actively engage with and support the doctoral program. 

    The position will be protected from heavy service for the first three years, but service activities within the department, Ryan College of Business, and university will increase in subsequent years.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Strategic Management or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution. Candidates that have a clear path to completing their doctorate by August of 2025 will be considered. 

    Candidates must have teaching experience and show the potential to conduct high quality research.

    Preferred Qualifications

    A research program that shows evidence of an ability to publish in top-tier management journals.
