The Position
The Faculty of Economics invites applications from candidates of international research standing for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in Management.
The Faculty of Economics of USI provides a young and dynamic environment with strong research competences in the areas of economics, finance, and management. The position is affiliated with the Institute of Management and Organization (IMO) that coordinates research and teaching in the field of management (for more information, see https://imo.usi.ch/en).
Candidates' profile
The ideal candidate holds a research focus in any area of Management (e.g., Entrepreneurship, Operations, Organizational Behavior, Organization Theory, Strategy, Technology and Innovation, etc.). We are looking for ambitious candidates who can publish in top-tier journals, acquire competitive grants, and teach in a multi-cultural environment. The new professor is expected to contribute to undergraduate, master, and PhD programs, supervise doctoral students, and actively participate in the development of the Institute, the Faculty, and the University.
Job description
The post-holder will be expected to:
• teach and run courses at all levels (Bachelor, Master, PhD) at an average of 100 teaching hours a year (11 ECTS).
• promote scientific research at USI in her/his field of competence.
• take part in the faculty organisation (Faculty Board, committees and other related tasks).
• contribute to the development of the USI Library in her/his field of competence.
General terms
Workplace is USI Università della Svizzera italiana, located in Lugano, Switzerland. Availability to travel to other parts of Switzerland and abroad (for purposes of collaboration and research) is required.
Salary will be defined according to terms and conditions as in the university Statutes.
Residence
Professors typically reside in Ticino, which is part of the Italian-speaking area of Switzerland. The new professor is expected to provide consistent participation in the academic activities of the university.
