    Associate Professor/Professor and Biedenharn Endowed Chair in Business

     

    Job Summary:  As a senior faculty member and eminent scholar in business, this person provides excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching; leads extramurally-funded applied research involving other faculty and colleagues; and promotes strong ties to the business community, especially in northern Louisiana. A preference for this position is expertise in strategic management.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Teaching
      • Teach 6 credit hours per semester; some courses may be in a hybrid or online format
      • Develop and/or update courses as needed
    • Research
      • Conduct extramurally-funded research in business disciplines
      • Serve as a mentor to tenure-track faculty for research
    • Service
      • Participate in curriculum design and assessment
      • Participate in the shared governance of the university through service on committees
    • Recruitment/Retention
      • Advise students majoring in business
      • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the business community, especially in northern Louisiana

        Minimum Qualifications
    • An earned terminal degree in a business or a closely related field, preferably related to strategic management
    • Academic accomplishments suitable for the rank of associate professor or professor
    • Documented excellence in fostering student learning
    • A record of sustained extramural funding and refereed publications in business, with a preference in strategic management
    • An interest/ability to conduct online instruction
    • Effective communication skills
    • An ability to work with a variety of individuals in an interdisciplinary, professional, and collegial manner
