Call for Submissions - AOM PDW on Movements and Markets

  • 1.  Call for Submissions - AOM PDW on Movements and Markets

    Posted 5 days ago

    Good afternoon,

We are happy to announce that we are currently accepting submissions to our 8th annual AOM PDW on Movements and Markets (formerly known as the Social Movements, Stakeholders, and Nonmarket Strategy PDW) on Saturday, August 10th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Fairmont Hotel (Gold Room).

We're coming up on a decade of organizing this PDW – the first was in 2015 – and as members of the movements and markets community, your support over the years has kept this project going – thank you!

This year's theme continues our focus on impact as we turn our attention to the reciprocal influences between movements, markets, and scholars. Our goal is to recognize the influence of scholarly work on social movements and broader society and to foster a more inclusive and responsible engagement with the communities we study.

As in past years, we'll begin with an expert panel and discussion followed by a networking session that all are welcome to attend, no submission or registration required. The final portion of the program is our research roundtables. These are a great opportunity to get the feedback you need: anything from vetting an idea for a new research project to hammering out details on a finished manuscript. The roundtables are open to all levels of scholarship – in the past, we've had participants just starting their PhDs, full professors, and everyone in-between.

To apply for the research roundtables, please submit an up to 3 page (about 1,000 words) summary of a new research idea or current research project to be explored with the discussants and other participants by July 12thPlease submit here – if you have any questions, please email Jun Byun at JByun@iese.edu.

Please share this invitation with any colleagues or doctoral students who may be interested. Thanks and we hope to see you there!

    Best wishes,
