    CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS

Strategic Management Division (STR) Virtual Junior Faculty Consortium 2023

    Time: August 1, 8:30am-12:30pm ET

Extended application deadline: June 9, 2023

The STR Division is pleased to sponsor the 2023 virtual STR Junior Faculty Consortium during the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.

The STR Junior Faculty Consortium brings together teaching- and research-oriented faculty who have recently completed their PhD programs. The objective is to enhance the scholarship, teaching, and overall professional development of faculty in early stages of their careers at different types of institutions across the world. The consortium seeks to provide opportunities for participants to engage in research discussions with peers and distinguished scholars, exchange ideas about research and teaching practices, and other aspects of their career. It will feature interactive discussions about how to balance the competing pressures of teaching, research and service. Senior faculty mentors will provide first-hand and detailed advice about how to build a successful academic career in a range of different institutional settings. Most importantly, participants will receive feedback on their "research trajectory" from their peers and senior faculty.

Our confirmed faculty mentors are Bertrand Quelin (HEC Paris), Curba Lampert (FIU), David Gomulya (SMU), Elena Kulchina (North Carolina State U), Henry Sauermann (ESMT), Ishtiaq Mahmood (NUS Singapore), Jorge Tarzijan (PUC Chile), Manuela Hoehn-Weiss (Oregon State), Marc Gruber (EPFL), Marvin Lieberman (UCLA), Sai Yayavaram (Indian Institute of Management Bangalore), Sheryl Winston Smith (BI Norwegian Business School), and Yong Li (U of Nevada).

The 2023 AOM STR Junior Faculty Consortium will take place on Tuesday August 1, 8:30am-12:30pm ET. Pre-registration is required. To qualify, applicants must have completed their dissertation by September 2022 and should be at least starting as an assistant professor in an academic institution in the Fall of 2023, ideally in the first through the fourth year of their academic career by the time of the consortium. In case of space limitations, priority will be given to applicants in early years of their faculty position or those who have started a tenure track position. Although outside the scheduled days of the conference, registration at the Academy of Management Conference is also required to participate in the consortium.

The extended application deadline is June 9, 2023. All applicants will be notified of admission decisions by the end of June. Please apply using the following link:  https://forms.gle/5i8dZdaPfe4EpMo5A
