    Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in Business
    Policy/Strategic Management in the I.H. Asper School of Business at the
    University of Manitoba. The appointment is open rank (i.e., Assistant
    Professor, Associate Professor, Professor). The appointment start date is
    July 1, 2012, and is subject to budgetary approval.

    Candidates must have completed or have nearly completed a Ph.D. or DBA in
    Business Policy/Strategic Management or a closely-related field. The
    position requires a strong research orientation and the ability to teach
    business policy/strategic management or associated areas (e.g.,
    International Business, Entrepreneurship). Duties include research,
    teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and professional service
    for the School, the University, and the community. Salary is competitive and
    will depend on qualifications, experience as well as research and teaching
    record.

    Depending on qualifications and research interests, candidates applying at
    the rank of either Associate Professor or Professor may also be eligible to
    hold the School?s newly-endowed Stu Clark Chair in Entrepreneurship. This
    chair serves to enhance the School?s existing scholarship and outreach
    strengths in the area of entrepreneurship.

    The I. H. Asper School of Business is the principal business school in the
    province of Manitoba and is accredited by AACSB. The School offers
    undergraduate, MBA, M.Sc. and PhD degrees. The Asper School is a research
    intensive institution comprised of approximately 54 full-time faculty
    members publishing in leading academic journals. Substantial research
    funding is provided for new faculty members as is a six month sabbatical
    after three years. The School is located in a modern, first-rate physical

    Faculty Position in Entrepreneurship and Strategy

     

     

    The Department of Management in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applicants for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Entrepreneurship and Strategy, rank open, effective August 16, 2015.  The Department offers an undergraduate major in Management with concentrations in business administration, entrepreneurship, and international business; an undergraduate major in Human Resource Management; an M.S. in Human Resource Management, and a Ph.D. in Business with a concentration in Management (OBHR).  The Department also provides instruction in Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, and other subjects for the Bachelor of Science in Business, Master of Business Administration, Executive MBA, and Ph.D. in Business.  Virginia Commonwealth University enrolls over 31,000 students, with 3,300 enrolled in the School of Business.  The Department has 14 full-time faculty who are active researchers and engaged teachers.  Management faculty have publications in leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology,  and Organizational Research Methods.  The city of Richmond consistently ranks among "Best Places to Live and Work in America" in several national publications.

     

    Qualifications: An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, or Management from an AACSB accredited institution.  Candidates must have teaching experience. Demonstrated excellence in published scholarly research and an active research agenda is required. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States and indicate their citizenship or visa status.  A desire to work collaboratively with colleagues to build a strong entrepreneurship program is required.  Preferred qualifications: We seek a candidate who is conducting research in entrepreneurship and has a secondary focus on strategy.  Preference will be given to candidates who can support our teaching in both entrepreneurship and strategy, however, candidates with other supporting teaching areas may be considered.  Although this search is primarily focused on candidates at the assistant professor rank, exceptional candidates at more senior ranks may be considered.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in and commitment to innovative and engaged entrepreneurship teaching.  Demonstrated ability to obtain external funding is desirable.  Business experience is a plus.
