The Faculty of Management and Organization of the University of
Groningen in The Netherlands invites applications for the position of
Full Professor *Strategy and Innovation*
*(tenured position)*
*Job description*
The professor provides leadership in research and teaching in the field
of Strategy and Innovation, with an emphasis on the abilities of firms
to manage external networks of relations and to deal with innovations,
and teaches primarily in the Bachelor and Master program in Business and
Economics. He/she also supervises Masters and PhD theses.
The position, located in the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship
(from September 2007 on merged into Innovation Management and Strategy)
will also include some administrative duties.
*Job requirements*
A candidate is an economist, management scientist or social scientist
having a core interest in research and teaching in the modern industrial
economics with an interdisciplinary approach of Strategy and Innovation
and a proven interest in small business and entrepreneurship.
He/she has a track record of outstanding academic research and teaching,
and is internationally recognized as an authority in the field of
Strategy and Innovation, with publications in leading journals cited by
prominent researchers. He/she is also able to provide leadership,
motivation and supervision, and has administrative qualities.
*Conditions of employment*
The chair is a full-time, tenured position at level full professor 1 or
2, depending on job-responsibilities, qualifications and experience.
According to university standards, the salary ranges between €4641,- and
€6760,- (2) and between €5171,- and €8161,- (1) gross per month for a
fulltime job (12 monthly payments) and a yearly 8% holiday allowance.
Non-Dutch applicants could be eligible for a favourable tax treatment
(30% rule for some years). We offer attractive pension facilities.
