Sponsored by the OMT, BPS, OB and RM Divisions of the Academy of Management

    Saturday, August 4, 2007

    12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Social network researchers who will be attending the Academy of Management Meetings in Philadelphia this year may find the Advanced Social Networks PDW of interest. The PDW will allow researchers who are currently engaged in social network research, or who have specific plans to incorporate social network concepts into existing streams of research, to interact with one another. After a short overview of the ways that social network theory and method are being used by management scholars, participants will break out into discussion groups organized around topics of interest.

WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS: Please provide a brief description (50 words or fewer) of your research interests as they relate to network analysis, along with five discussants (listed below) whose work is most relevant to your interests.  E-mail descriptions and names to Jon Johnson at jonjohn@walton.uark.edu.

NOTE: This is an advanced social networks PDW, intended to allow researchers who are currently engaged in social network research to interact with one another. If you are not currently involved in social network research but are interested in learning more about it, please look into the Introduction to Social Networks Research PDW that is being held on Friday, August 3, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please see the 2007 Annual Meeting Program for details.
