    Dear Annette,

Please find attached a call for papers for a volume of the Research in the Sociology of Organizations series on technology and organizations. I believe it would be of interest to members of the BPS division.

    Thanks,

    Nelson

Beta Test of Evaluation / Accreditation Program

Management Simulations®, Inc. (www.capsim.com) offers professors free participation in a beta test of Comp-XM®, the first (patent pending) examination that:

    * Measures students' learning and competency

    * Is designed to meet nine standards of accreditation (See below)

    * Is based on a business simulation

    * Provides a test, that is unique for each student, yet comparable for all students -- providing both fairness and security.

Any professor who would like to learn more about Comp-XM®, please Email sales@capsim.com. Management Simulations®, Inc. will send the information that describes the program, and tell how professors may (if they wish) participate in the free beta test.

The Comp-XM® process meets these standards of accreditation:

    1. Stated learning outcome goals.

    2. Sufficient content to meet the learning goals.

    3. Assessment of learning outcomes; evidence of student mastery

    4. Use of the results to improve learning and program effectiveness

    5. Relevance to student goals

    6. Active student participation

    7. Balance between theory and practice

    8. Opportunity for students to practice their learned skills
