Dear professors,
I would like to have a sense of the percentage of schools using external reviewers of faculty seeking tenure. If you send me your answer to the questions below I will consolidate the answers and send them back.
1. Do you use external (outside the business school, outside the university) reviewers in tenure decisions in your business/ management school? How many? How do you select them?
2. If so, what advantages or benefits are evident?
3. What costs or potential problems have you identified?
4. Would you vote to keep the system if it were up for review?
