School of Business and Economics – Senior Lectureship in Management (x1) and Lectureship in Management (x2) Positions
The Management Discipline within the School of Business and Economics at NUI Galway now invites applications for three positions: 1 x Senior Lecturer in Management (permanent), 1 x Lecturer (Above the Bar) in Management (permanent) and 1 x Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Management (1 year fixed term). The typical academic grade structure in Irish Universities is Lecturer (Below the Bar), Lecturer (Above the Bar), Senior Lecturer, Associate/Personal Professor and Established Professor/Chair.
Candidates will have an active research profile and published research output appropriate to the post they are applying for in leading journals commensurate with the goals of the Discipline, School and College. Candidates will have teaching and examining experience from undergraduate to postgraduate levels. Preference will be given to those with expertise in International Management/Business, Human Resource Management, Public Sector Management/Reform, Entrepreneurship, Organisational Behaviour, and/or Strategy. Applicants must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to take the initiative.
The Management Discipline is recognised nationally and internationally as contributing to HRM and employment regulation, strategy and international business. The key teaching areas of the Discipline include a designated stream on human resource management and capstone modules on strategy and business planning on the undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce and Executive MBA degrees. The Discipline offers three masters programmes: the MSc in Human Resource Management (HRM); the MSc in Strategy, Innovation and People Management (SIPM); and the MSc in International Management. Both the MSc HRM and MSc SIPM programmes are accredited with CIPD at the advanced level.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and examining at all levels; engage in scholarship and research; assist with administration and the development of the Management Discipline and School of Business & Economics; and contribute to the intellectual life of the University and the wider community.
