    Announcement of a Faculty Opening at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU), Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business for a full faculty professor in Management in compliance with § 99 of the Universities Act 2002.

    invites outstanding individuals to apply for a full time (100% degree of employment) faculty position in compliance with §99 of the Universities Act 2002

    in the academic field of Business Administration

     

    to begin on March 1, 2010, for a fixed term of 5 years maximum.

    Dean of the Austrian Business School

    Applicants are expected to strategically direct and manage operational aspects of the Austrian Business School which is currently in the course of formation. The Austrian Business School will be comprised of the existing LIMAK JKU Business School, JKU, and the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria which, based on the 20 years of continual experience at the above mentioned institutions, the applicant is expected to apply strong and innovative leadership towards the primary goal of becoming one of the Top 5 business schools in central Europe. In addition, applicants are expected to teach courses as well as lead the Johannes Kepler University in new directions of research. Due to the international nature of the academic programs, applicants will be expected to conduct courses and lectures in both German and English.

    For this challenging position, applicants should hold the following qualifications:

    A post-doctoral qualification ("Habilitation"), or an equivalently recognized academic qualification. Academic qualifications in teaching, research, leadership and development verified through international publications, lectures and university instruction. The applicant shall possess proven management and leadership experience, a high degree of social competence skills, verifiable experience in developing and implementing a work plan for a business school, currently involved in management development and with accreditation, as well as international experience and corresponding networks (in the area of business, research and business schools).  If applicable, applicants should have experience in business school leadership.
