The deadline for the receipt of extended abstracts for the Design Management Institute's 2012 International Research Conference has been extended until May 8. Although there has been a very strong response to the call for papers, with more than 70 abstracts already received, due to the number of requests for extensions that have been received the co-chairs felt it was only fair to grant an extension to all prospective participants.
The 2012 DMI International Research Conference is scheduled for 8-9 August in Boston, USA, with the theme, "Leading Innovation through Design." The conference will be hosted by Massachusetts College of Art, and is supported by a grant from the US National Endowment for the Arts. The goal of the conference is to create an inclusive conversation among academics from a variety of disciplines, including business and design management, to examine the ways in which design thinking can inform innovation currently and in the future. The event aims to lay the groundwork to build a scholarly community and advance the state of the art in design management research, theory, and practice, and produce a significant contribution to the field through the paper presentations, conference proceedings and producing a special issue of the Design Management Journal.
Prospective contributors should please make sure to follow the guidelines on the DMI website, making sure to not identify author names in the extended abstract. Those participants that have already submitted proposals may resubmit revised abstracts; please indicate that you are submitting an updated abstract in the notes field at the time of your submission.
