  • 1.  question about existing literature

    Posted 11-30-2010 15:22

    Dear Netters,

A colleague asked me to post the following question:

Can any suggest literature discussing Alignment of functional area strategies (e.g. Operations, Finance, etc...) and the overarching business strategy of an organization in relation to specific organizational configurations, sizes, or types such as Henry Mintzberg's 5 ideal types.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Ed

Suggest that you consider what these different fields of academic debate might offer:

External influences on organisations (Pfeffer & Salancik)

Resource based theory (RBT). (Porter, Barney)

Stakeholder theory  and influence on organisations ( Donaldson & Preston)
Re marketing -  the three dichotomies model ( Shelby Hunt)
