I'd like to get strategy scholars thoughts on recent (last 5-10 years) journal special issues that are particularly interesting for current strategy research. It used to be that these were very concentrated in the two special issues that SMJ published every year. Now I think they are more spread across the major journals, so I would like to get peoples' suggestions about relevant special issues for strategy.
The reason I ask is that I would like to use the editors' essays at the beginning of the issue to introduce phd students to current discussions and active areas of research in a foundations of strategy seminar. I started my first strategy phd seminar with a similar set of essays from SMJ in the 1990s and I thought it helped me read the earlier literature with an eye towards how these foundational papers speak to the current debate.
