Dear colleagues,
Please join us for an exciting symposium in Anaheim, Managing Audience Evaluations in Financial Markets: The Role of Strategic Communication on Tuesday, Aug 9, 11:30AM - 1:00PM in the Northeast Marquis Ballroom at Anaheim Marriott.
This symposium brings together a set of studies that explores how organizational actors communicate strategically to manage and influence external stakeholders' interpretation of their identity and actions in an attempt to create value in financial markets. Building on a variety of related theoretical traditions (e.g., impression and symbolic management, framing, sensemaking, etc.), this symposium advances several novel mechanisms that contribute to our understanding of how strategic communication works to shape evaluations in financial markets. More broadly, this symposium continues the ongoing conversation surrounding the critical role of communication in organizational and institutional analysis.
