Rethinking the Agency/Structure Interface in Institutional Theory (Session #25)
This workshop will focus on discussing the ways in which agency and structure are currently being articulated or should be articulated by institutional theorists. We have invited 3 outstanding scholars (N Anand, Bernard Leca, Kamal Munir) to reflect on empirical work that they have recently published, as well as an eminent panel of institutional theorists (Douglas Creed, Tina Dacin, Andy Hoffman, Pam Tolbert) who will reflect on the paradox of embedded agency and discuss some of the trends and promising directions in the field. The session will deal with both theoretical as well as methodological issues and is designed to ensure lots of opportunity for dialogue between our facilitators and other workshop participants.
