(Empirics of Organizations)
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich (LMU) is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Germany, involving an enormous range of activities and possibilities. The Organizations Research Group (ORG) at LMU Munich has an open position for a PostDoctoral Fellow.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong PhD degree in Management, Economics, Sociology, or a related field and a strong motivation and potential for high-quality academic research. Candidates must demonstrate experience with complex datasets (either primary or secondary data) and have completed a dissertation in the broad field of organizations research, either from a management, (micro)-economic, or social sciences perspective. Knowledge of data collection processes as well as in the fields of measurement theory, scale development, and test theory is appreciated. The position is initially for a fixed term of two years with an option for extension up to six years. The starting date is 1st October, 2014 or a mutually convenient date.
ORG is an interdisciplinary group of researchers comprising management scholars and economists broadly interested in phenomena concerning organizations, their interactions with their environment as well as their inner workings. Most research either takes an empirical approach or has an empirical underpinning and motivation.
The PostDoctoral Fellow will be part ORG and affiliated to the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization (ISTO), one of the constituent chairs of ORG. The successful candidate will take an active role in the management and development of the group, and in particular in the management of the datasets gathered by and held within the group. The candidate should have an interest in teamwork and cooperative projects. International experience is an asset.
