Position 1: Strategic Management (with secondary interest in Entrepreneurship)
Position Description
<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Bryant</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">University</st1:placename></st1:place> seeks to fill a tenure-track position in the Department of Management (rank open – Assistant/Associate). Bryant seeks a candidate with a strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research and teaching in the field of Strategic Management. A secondary interest in Entrepreneurship is highly desirable. The position entails conducting rigorous academic research with relevance to a managerial audience. Faculty members with an interest in entrepreneurship have the opportunity to work with a vibrant Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) on campus. A new faculty member may teach in our undergraduate (BSBA and BSIB) as well as graduate (MBA) programs. Candidates may have the opportunity to travel internationally with colleagues and students as part of our Sophomore International Experience and/or Bryant-Lingnan Summer Exchange program in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">China</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Candidates should expect to teach one or more undergraduate Strategy courses; other course assignments will depend on the candidates' interests and experience.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management from an AACSB-International accredited school. For candidates at the rank of assistant professor, ABD in management with completion expected by August 1, 2008 from an AACSB accredited school will be considered. Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence, building a scholarly publication record consistent with AACSB standards, and serving as active members of the Bryant community. The demonstrated capacity to conduct research that speaks to both academic and managerial audiences is highly desirable. In addition, candidates must possess the capacity to build strong connections with accomplished managers and entrepreneurs to support both teaching and research. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses at both the undergraduate (BSBA and BSIB) and graduate (MBA) level. Successful candidates will have the ability to conduct a variety of scholarly activities that support research and teaching, e.g., building new programs, writing research grants, establishing connections with the business community, and developing new courses.
