Dear Colleagues,
*Apologies for Possible Cross-Posting
If you are interested in conducting, publishing, and disseminating rigorous research for impact on practice, this PDW is for you. Please join us!
We cordially invite you to attend our PDW session on Translating Rigorous Management Research for Use by Public and Private Sector Policy Makers.
The purpose of this Professional Development Workshop is to assist members of the Academy of Management in developing manuscripts that communicate organizational research in ways that can enhance its perceived stature and relevance by gaining the attention of and informing the practice of government, business and non-profit policy leaders. Our goal is to facilitate better communication of the work we do to policy makers outside the Academy of Management so that the insights from organizational research can be applied to public and private sector policy challenges. The workshop is "at the interface" of organizational research and policy, with the aim of building bridges across these domains. It is relevant to Academy of Management members across a variety of domains relevant to policy development and implementation, including human resource management, organizational behavior, organizational theory, business ethics, and strategic management. The workshop will be organized in a round-table format, led by journal editors, editorial board members and others involved in translational management research with a focus on developing attendees' ideas and draft manuscripts for publication in outlets that are aimed at informing public and private sector policy and practice.
