    BPS MID-CAREER CONSORTIUM:

    MANAGING YOUR EVOLVING CAREER

The Business Policy and Strategy Division will once again sponsor a Mid-Career Consortium for the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. The Mid-Career Consortium is for BPS faculty members who completed their dissertation before August, 2011 and have at least five years of academic experience. The objective of the workshop is to facilitate networking and discussion around the unique professional challenges, problems and opportunities facing BPS faculty moving into their "Associate Professor Years."

Some of the topics that will be discussed include managing competing demands, taking on editorial and administrative roles, changing universities, working with doctoral students, and opportunities to move your research program in a new direction. The discussions will be followed by an informal cocktail reception and further conversations. The consortium will feature the following panelists: Ruth Aguilera (Northeastern U), Africa Ariño (IESE Business School), Ansgar Richter (U of Liverpool), and Heli Wang (Singapore Management U).

The 2016 Consortium is co-chaired by Matt Semadeni (Arizona State U.) and Gerry McNamara (Michigan State). Look for additional details on the BPS Division web page at (http://divisions.aomonline.org/bps/). For more information regarding this year's consortium, or to express interest in participating, contact Matt at semadeni@asu.edu or Gerry at mcnamara@broad.msu.edu.
