CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
BPS Division New Faculty Consortium
Saturday, August 8th, 2015, 8:00am- 5:30pm
The Business Policy and Strategy Division will sponsor a New Faculty Consortium on Saturday, August 8th during the preconference period of the 2015 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Vancouver BC.
The objective of the consortium is to enhance the scholarship, teaching, and overall career development of faculty in the early stages of their careers. The consortium provides an excellent forum for discussing research and teaching and for expanding one's academic network.
Giovanni Gavetti (Dartmouth) and Rosemarie Ziedonis (U Oregon) are the Co-Chairs for the 2015 Consortium. We have lined up an interesting, lively, and committed group of internationally renowned faculty panelists, including Linda Argote (Carnegie Mellon), Daniel Beunza (LSE), Magali Delmas (UCLA), Martin Ganco (Minnesota), Tammy Madsen (Santa Clara U), Costas Markides (LBS), Susan Perkins (Norhwestern), Tony Tong (U Colorado Boulder), Dennis Yao (HBS), and Mark Zbaracki (Ivy).
Highlights include interactive, panelist-led discussions of teaching, research, and tenure, as well as small-group discussions on topics such as strategic service commitments, work-life balance, research funding, and other participant-generated topics. The day will also include a panel discussion with editors from outlets like AMJ, Org Science, SMJ, Management Science, Strategy Science, and the Journal of Management. The day will conclude with focused discussions between panelists and participants regarding their research strategies and career trajectories. We aim for an engaging and enjoyable day!
To qualify, participants must have completed their dissertation by September 2014, be in the first few years of their academic career, or have recently moved into the Strategic Management/Business Policy field. In addition, a participant should have a record of commitment to teaching and research in the Strategy/Business Policy field and have not participated in the event in a previous year.
Please apply no later than June 1st, 2015 by submitting the following items:
1. a current CV
2. a statement of teaching and research interests (one page maximum in total)
Please send applications by email to Giovanni Gavetti (Giovanni.Gavetti@tuck.dartmouth.edu) & Rosemarie Ziedonis (rmz@uoregon.edu).
