Applications are invited for an open rank visiting (non-tenure track) position, position number 105040, starting August, 2015 subject to funding availability. The initial appointment will be made for a 9-month academic year; however, a second year appointment may become available depending on performance and availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The individual holding this position will be responsible for teaching the undergraduate capstone strategy course and participating in related assessment efforts. Additional teaching assignments may include fundamentals of management and business ethics depending on individual qualifications and distribution of the teaching load.
Minimum qualifications are a Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. in strategic management or in a closely related field from an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited school at the time of appointment. ABDs with teaching experience in related fields are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellent teaching. A track record of high-quality publication and teaching excellence is required for appointment at the rank of Associate/Full Professor. Teaching load is negotiable. This position may require teaching at other campuses of the university.
The College of Business is AACSB accredited with over 1700 students enrolled in seven undergraduate majors and two masters programs. The main campus of The University of West Florida is located in Pensacola, the crown jewel of Florida's beautiful Emerald Coast, known worldwide for its pristine white-sand beaches. The area is famous for its pleasant climate and location on the Gulf of Mexico, and enjoys a comparatively low cost of living.
