    Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 5:30PM

Vancouver Convention Centre in Room 005

The Business Policy and Strategy Division will once again sponsor a Mid-Career Consortium for the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.  The Mid-Career Consortium is for BPS faculty members who completed their dissertation before August 2009 and have at least five years of academic experience. The objective of the workshop is to facilitate networking and discussion around the unique professional challenges, problems and opportunities facing BPS faculty moving into their "Associate Professor Years." A panel of senior faculty will reflect on transitions and opportunities that are tailored to participants' professional and personal priorities and institutional realities. Topics that have been discussed in the past include time management, taking on editorial and administrative roles, executive education, changing universities, launching a new research stream, and working with doctoral students.

Senior faculty members will be Manuel Becerra (Instituto de Empresa Business School), Javier Gimeno (INSEAD), Melissa Graebner (University of Texas at Austin), Sarah Kaplan (University of Toronto), Richard L. Priem (Texas Christian University), and Minyuan Zhao (University of Michigan). The discussions will be followed by further conversations and an informal cocktail reception.

The 2015 Consortium is co-chaired by Adelaide King (University of Virginia) and Matthew Semadeni (Arizona State University). Interested participants should forward a brief cover email and vita to Adelaide at adelaide@virginia.edu or Matt at semadeni@asu.edu by July 1, 2015. Space is limited.
