****Apologies for cross-posting****
Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to join us for a PDW entitled " Firm Growth: Towards theoretical development on a distinct performance outcome." The session will take place Saturday August 2 from 12:15-3:15pm at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown - Freedom E. No registration is necessary and more information is available online: http://program.aom.org/2014/submission.asp?mode=ShowSession&SessionID=1072
We believe that the PDW is timely as firm growth is a foundational topic of strategy and entrepreneurship research, but remains one of the least understood. Further, strategies and factors influencing firm growth are evolving considerably. We want to gather to collaboratively discuss latent assumptions, critical questions and opportunities for new theoretical development on the unique outcome of firm growth. We will have short presentations followed by breakout groups and close with plenary discussion. The presenters and topics covered include:
· Jan Brinckmann: “Internal and Managerial Growth Factors”
· Alex Coad: "How Does Firm Growth Change Over Time?"
· Per Davidsson: “Distinguishing Growths – Promising Beginnings But Limited Interest?”
· Brett Gilbert: "Growing Together: On Firms and the Communities that Grow them."
· Robert Nason: “Theoretical Assumptions in Contemporary Growth Research”
· Johan Wiklund: “Phenomenological Assumptions in Contemporary Growth Research”
We hope that you will join us for these discussions. Feel free to contact rnason@jmsb.concordia.ca or jwiklund@syr.edu with any questions.
