  • 1.  Cinema meta-analysis: Call for published and working papers

    Dear BPS Moderators,

Would you mind sending out the following message to the list?

    Many thanks and best wishes,

    Allegre

    Dear colleagues,

I am currently working on a meta-analysis of motion picture economic performance.

I am looking for unpublished manuscripts and forthcoming papers addressing the issue of motion picture box-office performance (first week-end, first week, total theatrical run) or other measures of motion picture performance (length of run, profitability, revenue per screen, rentals, etc.) and its various antecedents (actor, director or other contributor to films, star power, word of mouth, click of mouth, seasonality, Print & Advertisements, critics' reviews, number  of screens, film genre, sequel).

If you have a paper that looks at any of the above variables (even just one of them), I would greatly appreciate of you could forward it to me; this would help me in addressing potential file drawer issues.  Feel free to contact me if you have any question.

Sincerely, and with apologies for cross-postings!

    Dear François,

Here is a conference paper jointly written with Nik Dholakia: http://goo.gl/3YHnFW

We then translated that conference piece into a journal article: http://goo.gl/VFx8Jk

And this year we published a book in which we use box-office performance as a case study: http://goo.gl/oMJMa9

    Hope the above helps.

    BR,

    Romeo
