BUSINESS AND PUBLIC POLICY POSITION
Job Description:
The Business, Government & Society (BGS) Department is a growing department
at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin that
teaches future leaders how to recognize and respond to the regulatory,
ethical, legal and social expectations that businesses face. BGS aims to
contribute to important public policy debates in these and related areas
through research that rigorously applies social science research methods to
relevant questions.
The McCombs School now invites applications for a single opening that could
be either a senior (tenured) or a junior (tenure-track) position starting in
the 2014-2015 school year. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant
social science discipline (e.g., political science, political economy,
etc.), a demonstrable methodological skill set, a research agenda relevant
to business and its nonmarket environment, and the potential to publish in
the top journals of their social science field and/or of related business
disciplines. Candidates should also demonstrate potential for teaching
excellence.
