Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel in Salon 6
The Business Policy and Strategy Division will once again sponsor a Mid-Career Consortium for the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. The Mid-Career Consortium is for BPS faculty members who completed their dissertation before August 2008 and have at least five years of academic experience. The objective of the workshop is to facilitate networking and discussion around the unique professional challenges, problems, and opportunities facing BPS faculty moving into their ‘Associate Professor Years.’ Some of the topics to be discussed by distinguished senior faculty panelists include time management, taking on editorial and administrative roles, starting research centers, executive education, changing universities, launching a new research stream, and working with doctoral students. We will then continue the conversation over beverages and appetizers.
Senior faculty members will be Don Hambrick (Penn State U.), Gavin Nicholson (Queensland U. of Technology, Australia), Brian Silverman (U. of Toronto, Canada), Anja Tuscke, (U. of Munich, Germany), and Yan (Anthea) Zhang (Rice U.)
The 2014 Consortium is co-chaired by Amy Hillman (Arizona State University) and Adelaide King (University of Virginia.) Interested participants should forward a cover email and vita to Adelaide at Adelaide@virginia.edu<mailto:Adelaide@virginia.edu> or Amy at amy.hillman@asu.edu<mailto:amy.hillman@asu.edu> by July 1, 2014. Space is limited.
