    Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the 2014 New Doctoral Student Consortium (NDSC), one of the longest running and most well attended pre-conferences activities organized within the AOM conference.

NDSC is currently accepting registrants for its Professional Development Workshop (PDW) at the AOM Annual Meeting to be held at Philadelphia on Saturday, August 2nd, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Established in 1997, the NDSC is the only cross-disciplinary AOM Annual Meeting event designed specifically for first and second year doctoral students, as well as those considering the doctoral path. Open to members of all AOM divisions, this interactive session is designed to integrate participants into the AOM academic community and to provide a foundation for excelling in doctoral life. Other aspects of the event include:

    ·         Small-group roundtable discussions with prominent scholars from across the AOM divisions

    ·         Networking opportunities with fellow doctoral students and established scholars at two receptions

    ·         Informational presentations on topics such as succeeding in a doctoral program, publishing research, and managing an academic career

    ·         A mentor lunch with advanced doctoral students during which participants can ask questions, gather advice, and make new connections

    ·         A chance to meet doctoral students from around the world with similar research interests and backgrounds - creating a sense of community within the larger AOM conference

    Speakers and facilitators include:

Paul Adler, Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California

Chet Miller, Bauer College of Business, University of Houston
