    FACULTY POSITION OPENING – Management and Organizations

     

    Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management

    The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track (Assistant Professor) position in our Management and Organizations Area, intended for placement in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, with start date of July 2019.  Applicants with research and teaching interests related to entrepreneurship and innovation and a background in organizational behavior, organizational theory and strategic management will be considered.  Responsibilities of the positions include research in area(s) of expertise, teaching basic and advanced courses in management with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation at the BS, MPS, MBA, EMBA and/or Ph.D. levels, supervision of doctoral candidates, and service to the Area, School, and College.

     

    The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools. The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the School of Hotel Administration (Hotel School). Faculty members in the Management and Organizations Area conduct research on diverse topics using a variety of research methods. This faculty position is based in Ithaca, NY. Most teaching will take place at the Ithaca campus, with the potential for some teaching at the Cornell Tech or Weill Cornell Medical College campuses in New York City, or the Executive MBA campus in Palisades, NY.

     

    The Management and Organizations Area has a diverse set of scholars with interests in organization behavior, organization theory and strategic management.  Cornell provides a vibrant environment for faculty with multiple Cornell units (Dyson School, School of Hotel Administration, ILR), in addition to the Johnson Graduate School of Management (https://www.johnson.cornell.edu/Faculty-And-Research/by-Area) employing faculty with interests in M&O and entrepreneurship and innovation.   Entrepreneurship  @ Cornell also brings together scholars and practitioners who study and teach Entrepreneurship across the University, and the newly-established Cornell Tech programs in New York City enhance the University's entrepreneurship and innovation programming.

    Note that applicants must have a Ph.D. in an appropriate field or be close to completion for consideration.
