Seeking merger and acquisition disaster cases
We are working on a research project investigating the mechanisms responsible for driving performance in unsuccessful post-merger or post-acquisition integrations. If you know of any post-merger or post-acquisition failure cases, then it would be great to hear from you.
Ideally, we would like to identify cases with some or all of the following characteristics:
- Generally regarded as a merger or acquisition failure
- Part or all of the failure is attributed to poor integration processes and there is some information available about the integration processes
- Some information available on the level of synergy expectations and synergies achieved over time
- Contains some information about the decisions management made in implementing the integration
We are conducting a broad search and would really appreciate hearing from you with details of any cases that may be appropriate to include. Please reply to us directly at the email below and we will circulate a summary of the suggestions we receive back to this email listserv.
