    Please excuse cross postings

I am interested in bringing to Australia at least two post doctoral or junior level researchers from Germany in the next several years to work on two major projects.  I have access to funds through the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Australian Research Council plus potential some private foundations.

The first project is quite broad based and examines individuals at the extremes of the social value distribution.  This project involves researchers in Canada, Germany and Australia and is broadly economics, psychology, sociology and political science based. Hence, anyone with a background in these areas would be of interest to us.  The project utilizes techniques ranging from experimental game theory to ethnographic techniques, so it is quite wide in terms of the skills required.

The project is entitled "Extreme Values: The Anatomy of Civil Society Supporters and Protest Groups" it is is described at: http://www2.agsm.edu.au/agsm/web.nsf/AttachmentsByTitle/TD_ARC_DBGS/$FILE/DBGS+Body.pdf

The second project builds on an existing body of work and utilized experimental techniques to estimate values and demand.  It involves researchers in Australia and is economics, psychology and strategy based.  Entitled "The Value of CSR to Close Stakeholders: A Discrete Choice Modeling Approach" it examines the impact of CSR activities on employment contracting, investor relations and reputational positioning.  It is, however, based very directly on our own work on consumer response and requires an understanding of experimental methods and econometric analysis.

This project is described at: http://www2.agsm.edu.au/agsm/web.nsf/AttachmentsByTitle/TD_ARC_ADD/$FILE/ADD+Body+Only.pdf

The funding for the post doctoral researchers is being sought in the first instance from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's Feodor Lynen Fellowship program, which is described at http://www.avh.de/EN/PROGRAMME/stip_deu/flf_p.htm .  Note that to be eligible for this you must be a German resident (there are two groups, those with less than 4 years from their dissertation and those up to 12 years; both are potentially acceptable).   So please look at the eligibility requirements.

If you are interested in this please take a look at the proposals and the Lynen Fellowship information.  If you contact me we can meet up either in Germany or at the AIB Conference in Milan, AOM in Anaheim or SMS in Koeln.

If you are interested in this work but fall outside the FL eligibility requirements there might be other opportunities depending on the level of funding we receive.  So anyone who has other interest in working with us should feel free to make contact.
