Please excuse any cross-postings.
Due to the highly positive response to our invitation to the "Good Practices in the Stakeholder Management of Companies" conference, we decided to extend the deadline for registration as well as the maximum number of participants. Please note that the conference addresses issues of academic rigour as well as practical relevance and is therefore suitable to practitioners as well as scientists. We offer two workshops addressing the individual demands of both audiences. We are happy to announce that Prof. Dr. Gilbert Lenssen (EABIS) and Prof. Dr. Jaques Bischoff (HWZ) will hold the opening speeches. Alan Knight (Head of Standards, AccountAbility) will be present as guest speaker in our professional workshop on "Best Practices in Stakeholder Management". There will be no charge for attendance to EABIS members. Lunch and refreshments will be provided at no costs.
Please respond as soon as possible if you are interested in participating in our event.
We would be very pleased to welcome you in Zurich and at the University of Applied Sciences (HWZ).
If you have any questions concerning our event please don't hesitate to contact us.

Annual Conference:
GOOD PRACTICES IN STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
"Insights from intra- and inter-industry comparison in the financial services and telecommunication industry"
Date: Wednesday, 16 November 2005
Event Background: Part of the project "Good Practices of Stakeholder View", led by the Center of Strategic Management - Stakeholder View as part of EABIS Corporate Funded Programme.
Location: University of Applied Sciences in Business and Administration (HWZ), Lagerstrasse 5, 8021 Zurich, Switzerland - from 11.30 - 18.00.
You are warmly invited to participate in the first conference to explore strategic insights from the "Good Practices of Stakeholder View" research project as part of the EABIS corporate funded project led by the Center of Strategic Management - Stakeholder View of the HWZ.
The Focus of the Day
Prof. Sybille Sachs and Prof. Edwin Rühli will explain why it is critically required to cooperate with stakeholders and will show examples of cases of best practice in the financial and telecommunication industry. This can help companies to learn from the experiences of others and such insights can be used for internal training purposes. In workshops, participants will have the opportunity to discuss in further detail the underlying research methodology or can share additional approaches and experiences to strategic stakeholder management. Both workshops will help to share experiences and successes as well as to identify gaps. Thus, they can lead to ideas as to the future focus of the project or the individual stakeholder management engagement of the participants.
The Project
The project is actively investigating the key aspects of stakeholder management based on the comprehensive management approach called "Stakeholder View" developed by Lee Preston (University of Maryland), Jim Post (Boston University) and Sybille Sachs. The research team is currently working on the project "Good Practices of Stakeholder View". Using comparative case studies in the telecommunication and financial services industry, the following research goals are being pursued:
- Analysis of good examples for the application of the Stakeholder View in practice.
- Development of tools and good practices to integrate a comprehensive stakeholder management into the strategy, structure, and culture of firms.
- Refinement of the Stakeholder View framework
Why attend?
- Gain insights into best practices of stakeholder management in and across different companies in the financial services and telecommunication industries.
- Deepen academic insights into stakeholder-oriented management.
- Discuss new insights into stakeholder management with practitioners and academics.
- Receive a copy of the project outcomes, executive summaries of the cases discussed during the day as well as copies of the presentations and speeches held.
