FUTURE OF WORK: MASTERING CHANGE
1 -3 November 2006
New Delhi
India
Organisations of the future would be a confluence of complexity, discontinuity and turbulence. They would be characterized by tectonic shifts leading to unprecedented ambiguities and uncertainties. The emergence of bionic man, along with rise of robotics at the work place, will fundamentally alter basic human processes, expectations and work styles. Such a phenomenon will have a far reaching impact on individual's and groups' cognitive, connative and affective processes. Digital technology would much more powerfully influence the way we transact business and services. The power of nanotechnology and genetic engineering would alter the basics of Pharmaceuticals and semi-conductor industries. The convergence of media, entertainment, telephony and computing industry, would further impact the established models of business, as well human lifestyles.
Globalization would further heighten and socio-economic and political boundaries would become increasingly redundant. There would be emergence of global citizens living everywhere and belonging nowhere. Organizations would become truly boundaryless. Organizations of the future would be a confluence of complexities constantly on a turbulent trajectory.
Nations, societies and institutions would experience upheavals and discontinuities. Such phenomena will redefine the existing socio-economic and political framework. Needless to say these powerful forces will alter the paradigms of transacting business and managing change.
In order to keep pace with the velocity of change and thrive in such a turbulent scenario, organizations need to shift gears to a mode for mastering change. Organizations will have to redefine their strategies, structure, processes, leadership and people management practices.
The National HRD Network (NHRDN) has decided to organize a Conference on 'FUTURE OF WORK: MASTERING CHANGE' keeping the above context in mind, during 1-3 November 2006. The venue of the Conference is Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi.
The NHRDN is India's largest network of more than 5000 leading HR professionals. It is a body committed to closer connection between knowledge and practice and has participated in many ventures with business schools and with society at large.
The conference is aimed at bringing in cutting edge knowledge from academia into industry and also provides scope for the practitioners to share their experiments and experiences. The objective of this conference is to bring together thought leaders from different parts of the world and provide an opportunity for interaction and dialoging to evolve effective strategies for future of work and mastering change. A rich interaction and mutual learning will be one of the outcomes of such a conference.
