    Dear colleague:

     

    Hereby I would like to invite you for a Conference on "Towards the Micro-Level Origins of Organizational Routines and Capabilities" at the Rotterdam School of Management, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Erasmus</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place> June 12-13 next year. The conference is organized by the Department of Strategic Management and Business Environment in cooperation with ERIM, the Erasmus Research Institute of Management.

     

    The conference features the following key note speakers: Nicolai Foss (<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Copenhagen</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place>), Sid Winter (Wharton), and Maurizio Zollo (Bocconi). Beyond the key note speeches, the conference program is scheduled to allow for extensive interaction and in-depth discussion with two discussants per paper.

     

    There is no conference fee. For accepted paper presenters, hotel accommodation will be covered for 2 nights. Please note that the conference precedes the DRUID Conference organized by the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Copenhagen</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype></st1:place> which starts on June 16, 2009.     <st1:personname w:st="on">Koen Heimeriks</st1:personname> is Assistant Professor of Strategy at the <st1:placename w:st="on">Rotterdam</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype> of Management at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Erasmus</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype></st1:place>. His research focuses on micro-processes underlying capability development and deliberate learning in alliance and M&A portfolios. He was awarded the Sumatra Ghoshal Research and Practice Award at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management</st1:placename></st1:place> 2005. His work has appeared and is forthcoming in Harvard Business Review, Journal of Management Studies, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Long</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Range</st1:placetype></st1:place> Planning, <st1:street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Sloan Management Review/Wall Street</st1:address></st1:street> Journal and Strategic Organization.
