    The Business Policy and Strategy Division will sponsor a new faculty consortium during the pre-conference period of the 2006 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The objective of the New Faculty Consortium is to enhance the scholarship, teaching, and overall career development of faculty in the early stages of their career (participants must have completed their dissertation and are typically in the first through the third year of their academic career) or who have recently moved into the Strategic Management/Business Policy field.

    The New Faculty Consortium provides an excellent forum for exchanging ideas and tips concerning teaching and research as well as for expanding one?s academic network. The New Faculty Consortium will be held on Saturday, August 12th from 8:30AM to 5:00PM and on Sunday, August 13th from 8:30AM to noon.

    The coordinators of the 2006 consortium are Mason Carpenter (U. Wisconsin) and Melissa Schilling (NYU).

    The faculty facilitators include: Tima Bansal (IVEY), Tim Devinney (AGSM), Marta Geletkanycz (Boston College), Peggy Lee (ASU), Peggy Lee (ASU), Laurie Milton (University of Calgary), Tim Pollock (Penn State), W. Gerry Sanders (BYU), Kevin Steensma (University of Washington), and Anja Tuschke (University of Passau).

    To qualify for participation in the 2005 New Faculty Consortium, an individual must have completed his/her formal dissertation defense by September 2005 and not have participated in prior BPS New Faculty Consortia. In addition, a participant should have a record of commitment to teaching and research in the Strategy/Business Policy field. Those interested in participating should apply no later than May 15th, 2006 by submitting the following items: 1) a current CV, 2) a statement of teaching and research interests (one page maximum in total), and 3) a letter from the applicant?s Dean or Department Chair nominating the applicant to represent their school at the New Faculty Consortium.
