Identifying studies with effects on performance variability

    Dear colleagues,

Could you help me identify studies with effects on performance variability? I am preparing a meta-analysis of studies reporting effects on performance variability, but those are difficult to track down.

I found a few studies explicitly addressing that question, for example:

(Sørensen 2002): reports -0.683** effect of corporate culture on logvariance of performance

(Taylor and Greve 2006): reports +0.04* effect of team size on deviation of performance

However, search in online databases yields little since the mention of variability is only tangential in most cases, and a lot of noise comes out because "variance" or such words appear everywhere. In most case, effects on performance variability appear when an omnibus test detects some heteroskedasticity: the paper usually reports how it was dealt with (e.g. robust regression or outlier removal) ... but the value of the variability effect (or at least its direction) is not reported.

I'd like to identify all studies that:

    • measure an effect of any factor onto variability of performance (or outcome variable in general), even if it's not the focus of the paper
    • reports some information on it (at least direction of the effect) [obviously, not a simple mention of heteroskedasticity]

Thanks in advance for your help,
