Fellow BPS-netters,
I have a data set composed of firms ranging in size, and I'd like to know the distribution of small-, mid-, and large-cap firms. I am having some difficulty deciding what breakpoints to use for those three categories. Although I have encountered some general rules-of-thumb, I'd like to know what has been used in empirical research. Can anyone tell me how this has been treated in the research literature?
Thanks,
Steve
