The BPS Mid-Career Workshop (PDW #274) is a wonderful evening of conversation and dinner with some of the Division's top scholars, and there are still a few spaces available. If you are interested, read on...

This workshop is designed specifically for "mid-career" BPS faculty with at least five years of academic experience. The objective of the workshop is to facilitate networking and stimulate lively and useful discussion centered on the unique challenges, problems and opportunities often experienced by BPS faculty as they move into and through their "associate professor years." This highly interactive workshop is organized around a series of discussions lead by distinguished senior BPS faculty about a variety of important mid-career topics, such as: keeping your research energized, mentoring doctoral students, taking on administrative and service roles, mid-career moves and the job market, taking on editorial roles, non-traditional career paths, and so on. Discussions will continue over dinner at Maggiano's Little Italy, with the BPS Division having generously and graciously offered to pick up the tab.

This year's panel of distinguished senior BPS faculty include: Don Bergh (University of Denver), Bert Cannella (Arizona State University), Michael Lubatkin (University of Connecticut), Rita McGrath (Columbia University), Margie Peteraf (Dartmouth College), and Steve Tallman (University of Richmond). Jim Combs (Florida State University) and Wally Ferrier (University of Kentucky) are serving as this year's workshop coordinators.

The Workshop will be begin on Saturday evening, August 4th at 6:00 pm in "Liberty A" in the Philadelphia Marriott. We will spend from 6:00 to 7:45 in conversation with our senior scholar panel discussing Mid-Career topics before moving to Maggiano's Little Italy for dinner.
